Abstract

The decision process involved in deciding to automate the small commercial bank is examined from a behavioral point of view. A descriptive model which provides an outline of the process is suggested, and principles of the behavioral theory of the firm are applied in its examination. Results of a field study including 23 banks are presented in support of the model.
