TL;DR

Third-generation construction kits allow children to build behaviors, and have been used to build a wide assortment of "behaving machines," such as: a robotic creature that "wants" to move toward the light, a hamster cage that keeps track of the movements of its occupant, and a kinetic sculpture that responds to the movement of a person.
