Abstract
We analyze the proximity measure introduced by Pappis and, give a general definition of proximity measure in this paper. Based on the axiom definition of similarity measure, we discuss some properties of similarity measure. The results, to some extent, could simplify the process of comparison of some similarity measures of fuzzy values.
