Abstract

Viet Nam's public-health officials are projecting that nearly 1% (600 000) of the entire population will be infected with HIV by the end of this year. In addition, since nearly half of those infected are 15–24 years old, the disease will have a devastating impact on the economic development of one of Asia's fastest emerging markets.
