As students struggle to determine what is important in their lives and to incorporate nursing into their existence, they are encouraged to share their thoughts and explore new insights in a nursing/humanities course, The Reflective Clinician. Student narratives of their perceptions of the course are offered for illustration and to give examples of growth experienced by the participants.
