Abstract
This comprehensive handbook shows the methods of analysis required to make calculations of the energy needed to manufacture, or needed in any process requiring fuel in its operation. The authors develop the rationale of energy process analysis by discussing and providing sets of operational data for energy determination, which are collected here. Part 1 discusses industrial systems and their operating performance, simultaneously introducing the concepts of fuel consumption, energy requirement, and feedstock energy. Part 2 contains a unique assembly of primary and secondary data of energy requirements for a wide variety of industrial systems. The keynote of this section is its ease of reference, providing a systematic source of information which saves extensive research and calculations by industrial workers. 143 references, 89 figures, 90 tables.
