Confucius' sayings-derived from his 450 recorded brief conversations and observations-colourfully expound such basic virtues as a child's duty toward his/her parents, love between brothers, devotion to family tradition, reliability in friendships, loyalty to superiors and justice to all men. How five major values of Confucian beliefs fit into nursing practices are elaborated below.
