Abstract
When the first edition of this book was published in 1994, the qualitative revolution had broken out from the social sciences and healthcare professionals were waking to its potential. It became the bible of qualitative researchers. In the preface to this new edition, Denzin and Lincoln say that they had never imagined that the audience would be so large or that it would become a textbook for research methods courses.
