Objectives of Study: 1. To assess the direct and indirect costs of an adult HIV/AIDS related death on rural households in area seriously hit by HIV/AIDS. 2. To analyse the coping strategies and ability to cope of households in order to reduce the adverse economic impact of adult HIV/AIDS-related death on welfare of other surviving members. 3. To investigate whether the economic impact of an adult AIDS death is different from the impact of an adult death resulting from another cause. 4.
