Abstract

Development of a ten-item Trust Scale for Nurses, tested on 79 nurses at the Nashville, Tennessee, Veterans Administration Hospital, is described. The scale measures degree of nurses' trust, based on measurement of their trust of patients. Validation of the instrument was done by correlating the nurses' scores on it with their scores on Rotter's (1967) Interpersonal Trust Scale.
