Abstract

Karen S. Ehrat, PhD, RN, is Senior Vice President in the Mercy Health System-Greater Cincinnati Region and CEO of Mercy Hospitals Anderson and Clermont. She currently serves as an American Hospital Association appointee to the Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations Board of Commissioners. She held the elected office of American Organization of Nurse Executives President, 1990-1991. Dr. Ehrat is an active national speaker and lecturer and a JONA editorial advisor. Charles E. Hollerman, MD, is Regional Vice President, Clinical Integration/Physician Support Services in the Mercy Health System Greater Cincinnati Region. He is a Fellow, American Academy of Pediatrics and Fellow, American College of Physician Executives (ACPE). He recently held the elective office of Chairperson, Forum, on Quality Healthcare of the ACPE. Dr. Hollerman has lectured and contributed to journals and books on physician management topics.
