Abstract
Information asymmetry between service buyers and sellers affects choice of competitive strategies for services. It causes buyers to mistrust quality claims and misinterpret price signals. However, services are not all alike and buyers' ability to evaluate services also varies. These variations affect choice of generic competitive strategies for service businesses.
