Abstract

In the absence of lease friction, hotel markets provide a unique laboratory for addressing how space and asset markets respond to local and macroeconomic condition changes. The knowledge gained from studying hotel markets lies scattered in bits and pieces across the literature. A consolidation of what we now know about hotel markets is useful in that case. Here are some views on what we can learn about hotel markets as the market moves closer to a peak.
