Abstract

This paper describes a model of information-processing mechanisms in the frog visual system. The model delimits a class of specific mechanisms. One of these mechanisms, which utilizes cells like the "sameness" and "newness" cells reported in the frog optic tectum, is presented. Results of a computer simulation demonstrate the mechanism's performance.
