Abstract

The retention and loss of substance of a pit and fissure sealant over two years was evaluated in 84 children. Sealant was completely retained on 92% of all teeth at 3 months and on 69% of all teeth at 24 months. Retention was superior on premolars compared with molars, on second premolars compared with first premolars, and on first molars compared with second molars.
