Abstract

Abstract This chapter begins with a discussion of the meaning of evidence-based practice and why it matters. It then identifies six categories of research in which studies are needed to amplify, strengthen, and extend the science on evidence-based services for children and adolescents. It argues that developing a science that will be serviceable for children requires a different and more iterative model of the relationship between search and practice. Such a model is then described.
