Abstract
The question of where to start the redesign of a product in respect to environmental improvements should be answered in this paper by setting up the so called ECODESIGN checklist method (ECM) meant for supporting engineers in product development to environmentally improve their products. It is shown with this method how one can work out systematically redesign tasks on parts, function and on product levels to reduce the environmental impact of a product.
