Abstract
This paper discusses three microcomputer supported qualitative data analysis approaches: text, data base manager and computer aided text analysis. How each approach performs the basic tasks of qualitative data analysis is discussed. Examples from recent management research are used to illustrate the approaches. The advantages and limitations of each are identified.
