Abstract
The product safety dilemma for over-the-counter medications involves combining safety, packaging, product form and consumer acceptance into a solvent bundle. The Analytic Hierarchy Process model is used in this study to assist in understanding the complexities and interactions of these elements as well as to evaluate consumer reactions to different solutions. The final outcome offers strong support for industries assessment of this situation, namely that product safety is a powerful overriding factor.
