Abstract
This paper assesses the present status of how to go about doing business in Mexico and focuses on a series of areas concerning acquisitions, franchising and joint-venture partnerships as they relate to the hotel and resort industry. Addressed in this paper will be Mexico as a key location, risks and challenges of investment in Mexico and various ways to structure deals. It will further review the challenges of dealing with the local agencies to obtain government permits and licences.
