Abstract
The relationship between the folk-custom tourism resources and the protection of regional culture has been one of the hot problems for the international tourism circle.This study sets Tuwa people,who are the original residents of the Kanas Lake,in Xinjiang,as a study object,illustrates the kinds,charac-teristics and the development conditions of Tuwa culture.Benefits of the tourism identified by this study include revival of Tuwa culture,more employment opportunities,promotion of cross cultural under-standing and improved material welfare.However,disadvantages such as inauthentic representation of indigenous culture,limited employment opportunities and the culture invasion from modern cultures also exist.Recommendations from this study include as follows:(1) protectively constructs indigenous com-munity;(2) relocates the Tuwa village;(3) consummates the management system;(4) ameliorates the Tuwa people' s living standard;(5) protects the aboriginal grasslands;(6) promotes Tuwa people take more concerns on self-check and self-management;(7)assures that Tuwa culture is laid out authenti-cally.
