Abstract
ABSTRACT The objective of this investigation is to reveal leisure traveler's typology based on nine travel motivations by using logistic probability modeling. The study data are collected from a two-stage omnibus survey of travelers to ten eastern states including the District of Columbia. Among 1,303 study samples, this research finds two distinct segments of leisure travelers: (1) Novelty Seekers and (2) Acquaintance Visitors. In the final analysis, the resultant two segments could be further profiled by ages. The discussions and implications of the findings are also furnished to further facilitate the potential applicability to future tourism management practices.
