Will You Use Animation on Your Web Pages?

Web interface designs are equally critical for companies to succeed in the Internet revolution and one of the Web interface design considerations is the use of animation on Web pages.

Abstract

Joining the Internet revolution becomes many companies’ strategic plans and actions nowadays. As Sudweeks and Romm pointed out earlier in this book, planning and designing of company strategies, developing marketing strategies to be used on the Internet, streamlining information flows within companies that are based on the Internet (Intranet), and developing Internet-based networking strategies with suppliers and customers, are important issues that companies need to face. The up front that realises all these strategies and actions, however, is the Web user interface or the Web pages that the companies provide for viewers and customers to interact with. Web interface designs are equally critical for companies to succeed in the Internet revolution. There are many Web interface design issues that need to be researched (for example, see Nielsen, 1999; Zhang et al., 1999). One of the Web interface design considerations is the use of animation on Web pages.
