Abstract
The multiple soft gluon emission probability is shown to factorize in an infrared leading region of phase space, but independently of strong ordering assumptions on the quark masses. On the basis of this (partial) eikonalization result it is argued that the large n anomalous dimension has no IR leading term αks(log n)k for any k ⩾ 2.
