Google Scholar Citations Y La Emergencia De Nuevos Actores En La Evaluación De La Investigación

How the appearance of Google scholar citations and other products may affect the two major sources of bibliometric data, ISI Web of science and Scopus, and how this can influence the evaluation of scientific research is discussed.

Abstract

Se presenta el nuevo producto de Google dirigido a investigadores, Google scholar citations, que intenta trazar el perfil bibliométrico de los investigadores y provee indicadores de citas como el índice h. Se revisan otras herramientas destinadas a medir la visibilidad e impacto académico en la web, como Microsoft academic search y las nuevas iniciativas agrupadas bajo la etiqueta altmetrics o indicadores alternativos. Finalmente se discute cómo la aparición de Google scholar citations y de otros productos puede afectar a las dos grandes fuentes de datos bibliométricos, ISI Web of science y Scopus, y cómo esto puede influir en la evaluación de la investigación científica.
