Abstract
In a recent conversation with Dr Lesly Huxley, Sara Parkin of Forum for the Future highlights sustainable development's broaer concepts, its emphasis on individual and social capacity building and the part HEIs have to play. The article includes an adaptation of Forum for the Future's 'Sustainable Development Grid for Universities', summarising the natural, human, social, manufactured and financial aspects of universities as businesses, places of learning and research and as key members of the local community.
