Abstract

Planned change was investigated in 14 schools through a three-year study that examined the relationship between linkages (or the interrelatedness of behavior patterns among individuals within a school) and teachers 'implementation of new practices. Analyses of both qualitative and quantitative data suggested that tighter linkages facilitated the spread of change within a school.
