Abstract
The article reviews total quality management (TQM) practices in public listed manufacturing companies in Malaysia. It also explores ISO certification of the companies as well as some other related issues. Our findings indicate that the length of TQM implementation has a significant impact on the companies' financial performance. Long - term TQM adopters are found to outperform short - term adopters. The industrial manufacturing companies exhibit higher TQM scores than the consumer manufacturing companies. In addition, the quality index ranking suggests that more stringent quality measures are being carried out in automotive and gas industries.
