Abstract

A pioneer in the area of soil pollen analysis, the author distills his wealth of practical experience in this volume to show how soil pollen sheds light on the relationship between ancient man and his environment. The uses and dangers of these techniques are discussed and illustrated with the help of over thirty pollen profiles. Numerous references to similar studies in Europe, Africa, and America place the author's work in the widest possible perspective. -- AATA
