Abstract
L'auteur propose un modele de mesure du cout des operations formelles dans une grammaire. Il cherche ensuite a expliciter ce que la theorie de l'economie apporte au statut de l'optionalite :en testant l'hypothese de l'existence d'un mouvement optionnel dans les langues (ici Anglais et Japonais), il conclut que les principes d'economie eliminent la possibilite d'une optionalite dans les derivations.
