Abstract
The status of ecotourism within deserts, grasslands, and savannas is examined. Short descriptions of the ecosystems are presented, including their spatial distribution and condition (i.e., extent to which they have been modified by human activity). A discussion of the hypothetical strengths and weaknesses of each ecosystem as a venue for ecotourism is then presented, followed by a consideration of its actual utilization as such.
