Abstract

This article considers quality assurance in the use of zuclopenthixol acetate in psychotic patients with aggressive behaviour. Fifty-seven patients, most of whom had a diagnosis of schizophrenia, were hospitalized and treated with zuclopenthixol acetate only, or in combination with benzodiazepine. Aggressive behaviour in 20 patients was noted, 13 of whom were registered. Scales assessing aggressive behaviour (SDAS and SOAS) were used during the first six days of the observation period. Although all patients had the potential to display aggressive behaviour, 66% showed marked improvement, only 34% being registered or displaying aggressive behaviour.□ Aggresivitet, Kvalitetskontroll, Psykoser, Zuclopenthixol acetat.
