Summary THE SOCIO‐ECONOMIC STRUCTURE OF THE REGIONS OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY In spite of statistical problems, the paper analyses (using several criteria) the socio‐economic structure of farming and of the economy as a whole for 55 regions of the original eec of the six founding states. These include demographic data, regional economic capacity and structure, socio‐economic situation of farmers and structural change, income combination, alternative employment, and integration with different economic enterprises. For farms, manpower and its features are described, the total size (including animal husbandry), and the capacity‐man‐ratio. Finally, there is presented a summary evaluation by points of the single criteria according to the comparative favorability of the regions. RÉSUMÉ LES STRUCTURES SOCIO‐ÉCONOMIQUES RÉGIONALES DANS LA COMMUNAUTÉ ECONOMIQUE EUROPÉENNE En dépit des difficultés d'ordre statistique, cet article analyse à l'aide de nombreux critères, la structure socio‐économique de l'agriculture et de l'aaivité globale des 55 régions des 6 membres initiaux de la C.E.E. Cette étude concerne les données démographiques, les potentialités et les structures économiques régionales, la situation socio‐économique des agriculteurs et l'évolution des structuzes, les combinaisons des sources de revenus et des professions, intégration horizontale et verticale. Les aspects principaux de la main‐d'oeuvre agricole sont décrits ainsi que la taille économique (y compris l'élevage) et la productivité par travailleur. Cet article présente, enfin, une évaluation rapide de la situation respective des régions selon leur plus ou moins grandes potentialitts. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG DIE SOZIALÖKONOMISCHE STRUKTUR IN DEN REGIONEN DER EUROPÄISCHEN GEMEINSCHAFT Der Beitrag zeigt trotz statistischer Probleme mit Hilfe vieler Kriterien die sozialökonomische Struktur für Landwirtschaft und Gesamtwirtschaft in 55 Regionen der eg der sechs Gründerstaaten. Dazu gehören Bevölkerungsdaten, regionale Wirtschaftskraft und ‐struktur, sozialökonomische Situation und Strukturwandel der Landbewirt‐schafter, Enverbskombinationen, Arbeitsplatzalternativen, Integration mit anderen Unternehmen. Für die Betriebe wird die Struktur des Arbeitskräftepotentials dargestellt, die Gesamtgrösse (einschliesslich Viehhaltung) und die capacity‐man‐ratio. Den Abschluss bildet eine Zusammenfassung (Punktbewertung) der Einzelkriterien zur Kenn‐zeichnung der strukturellen Gunst der Regionen.
