Longitudinal Data Analysis

Abstract

This mini-symposium will examine epidemiological issues associated with longitudinal data analysis using examples from the literature to briefly introduce each topic. The initial topic for discussion will be analysis of dichotomous data that involves a time component. Survival analysis (life-tables) will examine overall rates of survival, and person-years approaches, and lead into advanced survival analysis techniques (e.g. dependent co-variates, and interval-censored data). The analysis of repeated measures dichotomous data will also be discussed including: a), the use multiple regression to model continuous data, and b). how more recent developments in statistical methods have led to generalized estimating equations (GEE) for dichotomous data analysis. Software programming methods will be included in the presentations.
