Abstract

Catherine Waldby is Deputy-Director and Senior Research Fellow at the National Centre in HIV Social Research at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. She is the author of The Visible Human Project: Informatic Bodies and Posthuman Medicine (Routledge, 2000), AIDS and the Body Politic: Biomedicine and Sexual Difference (Routledge, 1996), and many articles and essays on medicine, the body and culture. She is the editor of the BioFutures, BioCultures series with Routledge. The National Centre in HIV Social Research is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care of the Australian Government.
