Abstract
The thermal conductivity of gases, liquids, gas mixtures, and liquid solutions is covered. Existing theories and equations proposed for calculation of thermal conductivity at low pressure are reviewed. The thermal conductivity of gases at high pressures, in the critical state and during transition to the liquid state, is discussed. Thermal conductivity equations for nonassociated and associated liquids at atmospheric pressure are cited. Empirical equations were derived for the thermal conductivity of solutions. The basic experimental techniques and theories underlying the experimental methods for determining thermal conductivities of liquids and gases are explained. An analysis of experimental corrections is presented and possible errors of measurement are indicated.
