Assertional Mining in Description Logics.

Abstract

This paper introduces a new framework to integrate knowledge discovery methods into knowledge representation systems based on description logic reasoning. We de ne necessary criteria for a concept to be accepted as learned from an A{Box in this framework and present a family of algorithms to calculate these concepts. For the simple description logic we show that we can simulate results of state-of-the-art data mining mechanisms based on these algorithms.
