TL;DR

Airline passengers similar to those in this review can expect a substantial reduction in the incidence of symptomless DVT and leg oedema if they wear compression stockings.

Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To assess the effects of wearing compression stockings for preventing deep vein thrombosis versus not wearing compression stockings by people travelling on long‐haul flights. For the purposes of this review, long‐haul flights are defined as flights of at least four hours duration.
