TL;DR

Investigation of the relationship between lunar phases and crisis calls found findings appear consistent with those of other investigations of lunar influence on human behavior.

Abstract

Over an 8-yr. period 36,268 calls were received by the Crisis Intervention Center of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between lunar phases and crisis calls. Pearson correlations were performed but no significant values were obtained. Exploratory Fourier analyses showed trends in the data not related to lunar phases. Findings appear consistent with those of other investigations of lunar influence on human behavior.
