Abstract The manual method of Highashi and Peters for the determination of inulin has been adapted to autoanalysis with the standard AutoAnalyzer. Protein-free filtrates of serum were prepared by the Smogyi method rather than trichloracetic acid. Recoveries of inulin added to human serum and urine averaged 101 ± 2 per cent.
