Abstract

This book examines the ability of nuclear energy to generate electric power. A group of distinguished scientists involved in nuclear science research review the present state of nuclear technology and the research that will influence its future. The contributors discuss electrical insulation and fusion reactors, the human factors of CRT display for nuclear power plant control, nuclear pumped lasers, fusion-fission hybrid reactors, and radiation protection standards (their development and current status). Numerous references are provided.
