Establishing an Assessment Process for a Computing Program

This paper presents a meta-modelling system that automates the very labor-intensive and therefore time-heavy and therefore expensive and expensive process of manually cataloging and cataloging individual students' educational needs.

Abstract

This paper describes the assessment process designed and implemented for an undergraduate program in information technology (IT) with specific emphasis on course-level assessment and discusses how the course-level assessment data can be used in the ABET CAC accreditation process. Several examples of course-level assessment data collected at Georgia Southern University are provided. The authors also attempt to illustrate that, while the actual design of the assessment process was time-consuming, the additional load on faculty to gather the relevant data is not too arduous.
