Abstract

We report the discovery of a new gravitationally lensed system, B1422 + 231, which has four unresolved components, all within a diameter of 1.3 arcsec. The system was found in a VLA and MERLIN survey for small-separation lenses. The radio source is identified with a 16.5-mag quasar at a redshift of 3.62, making it one of the highest apparent luminosity lensed systems.
