Abstract

This article outlines key social policy issues facing women in the 1990s and examines their implications for social work practice. The authors argue that systematic analysis of the interconnections between social policy issues and social work practice with women is a critical foundation for social work practice in the 1990s. Using a framework built on concepts of role equity and role change, social policy and social work practice issues are examined. Principles for social action and social work practice in a conservative era are suggested.
