Abstract
ABSTRACT Ethical behavior is an essential component of professional practice. In recent years, nursing has become increasingly aware of the need to prepare its practitioners for making the ethical judgments required by everyday practice. Nursing ethics has been emphasized in the curricula of undergraduate schools of nursing. Books and articles on the dilemmas nurses face and how to deal with them have been written. Research has been undertaken on factors which influence nurses' abilities to reach ethical conclusions. Little has been said, however, about the need for continuing education in ethics for nurses.
