Abstract
This edition of Children in Sport provides a multidisciplinary investigation of issues of concern to educators, researchers and programme administrators in youth sports. It bridges the gap between research and practice and addresses topics such as readiness for participation, anatomical and physiological concerns, psychological issues, social processes, and the history and future direction of youth sports. The third edition also features chapters that focus on gender differences in sport participation, participant motivation and the dropout phenomenon, co-operative skills in sport, and more.
