Mapping Murky Waters: Describing Content and Techniques in Student Supervision

An exploratory study designed to develop descriptive categories of supervisory behaviours and content in formal one-to-one supervisory sessions used as tools to measure supervisory practice across fields and methods is described.

This paper describes an exploratory study designed to develop descriptive categories of supervisory behaviours and content in formal one-to-one supervisory sessions. These categories are used as tools to measure supervisory practice across fields and methods. The results are discussed and some implications for practice are made.
