Abstract

Abstract Many of the findings in this book, writes the editor, are counter-intuitive. This is itself a finding, one reached early on in the ‘Virtual Society?’ programme on which these contributions are based, and it has remained importantly true. The ethnographic reach of the diverse studies brought together here underpins it. But to know that as a finding then makes it part of the study. This chapter reflects on the process of study.
