Abstract
Abstract This chapter focuses on the contribution of localization data to cognitive psychology. It presents a framework describing the architecture of the human cognitive system and its use as a tool to try to break conclusions of target brain imaging studies. The framework is a molecular model of cognition inspired by Douglas Hofstadter’s Jumbo model. The chapter discusses relaxation, foreground, and background, and, finally, presents some recent brain imaging studies focusing on location and information related to the background theories in cognitive science.
