Abstract
In this paper, we present initial experiments \nin the recognition of deceptive language. \nWe introduce three data sets of true \nand lying texts collected for this purpose, \nand we show that automatic classification \nis a viable technique to distinguish between \ntruth and falsehood as expressed in \nlanguage. We also introduce a method for \nclass-based feature analysis, which sheds \nsome light on the features that are characteristic \nfor deceptive text.
